Book Expo
I had a most amazing experience at Book Expo at the Javitts Center in New York City. I met authors from all over the United States, spoke with publishers, librarians, and all kinds of people associated with the book industry. Everyone was terrific and so helpful. The best part of course for me was the positive feedback I was getting about my novel, The Unexpected Connection. Also most striking were the many female authors, addressing female issues in both the fiction and nonfiction genres. In our difficult political times it was a breath of fresh air to be surrounded by optimistic people whose sole purpose was to market or acquire the written word, literature, the mainstay of a viable culture. We cannot allow technology to supersede and have people forget the complete sentence! Books are so important and relevant. What are your thoughts? I will always remember my first Book Expo and the wonderful people I met!
