KEEP WALKING • A Play in Two Acts
KEEP WALKING
A Play in Two Acts
Synopsis
My play, Keep Walking, is a story of a woman Michelle who experiences self-discovery after losing her husband due to a hit and run accident, rebuilding her life, and going back into the dating game. Dating, relationships, women’s worth, and personal growth are “in topics” which makes Keep Walking relevant to our times. “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the storm.” (Vivian Green) This is the message conveyed by Keep Walking.
The play unfolds as Michelle introduces the audience to a dating experience she has at Haven’s Pub and hints at further stories. In the next scene she then returns to Haven’s Pub to await another first date meet-up. She arrives early and sits at the bar. Throughout the play she interacts with the local bartender, Mike, and relates her stories of the men she has met as she entered the world of dating. The different dating encounters are acted out. Michelle presents her experiences with humor and poignancy. As the various vignettes are presented, Michelle’s personal growth and self-discovery are revealed. How she processes her experience with the bartender will be discovered. Women and men of any age can relate to this timeless play, as we have all gone down this road at one time or another.
Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass
It’s about learning to dance in the rain.

History
KEEP WALKING has had four staged readings at
various venues in New York City. The play
was universally well received regardless of gender,
age, or sexual orientation. As a playwright it is my
hope and vision that a full production of
KEEP WALKING will be a part of its future.
